1 â–¸ What is Reiki and how does it work?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-above) energy-healing technique that originated in Japan. The practitioner channels universal life-force energy to clear blockages, balance chakras, and activate your body’s innate healing response. Most clients feel deep relaxation, warmth, or subtle tingling during a session.

2 â–¸ What should I expect during my first session?

We start with a brief intake to discuss your goals and any health concerns. You’ll then lie fully clothed on a massage table while calming music plays. I place my hands lightly on—or just above—specific energy centers. Many clients drift into a meditative “Reiki nap.” We finish with a short debrief and after-care tips.

3 â–¸ Do I need to do anything to prepare?

Wear comfortable clothing, hydrate well, and avoid heavy meals or stimulants (strong coffee, energy drinks) in the hour before your appointment. If you have crystals or items you’d like charged, feel free to bring them.

4 â–¸ Is Reiki safe during pregnancy or alongside medical treatment?

Yes. Reiki is non-invasive and complements conventional care. Always inform your healthcare provider of any complementary therapies and let me know about current treatments or medications so I can tailor the session safely.

5 â–¸ How will I feel afterwards?

Most people report feeling lighter, calmer, or pleasantly “floaty.” Occasionally you may experience mild detox symptoms such as extra thirst or emotional release—this is your body rebalancing. Rest, hydrate, and allow feelings to flow.

6 â–¸ I’m not local—do you offer distance or virtual sessions?

Absolutely. Energy transcends physical distance. You can book a 60-minute Distance Reiki Check-In delivered via Zoom, FaceTime, or phone. You’ll set an intention and relax in your own space while I channel Reiki remotely. Email me to make arrangements.

7 â–¸ Do you travel to clients?

Yes—on-site sessions can be arranged within Grey & Bruce County. A modest travel fee applies based on distance. Email me to discuss dates, location, and pricing before booking.

8 â–¸ What payment methods do you accept?

In-person sessions accept cash or e-Transfer. For e-Transfers, select “Manual Payment” when booking; you’ll receive instructions in your confirmation email.

9 â–¸ What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens! Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid the full session fee. Missed or late-cancelled appointments are charged in full. Full policy details live on the Policies page.

10 â–¸ Do I need multiple sessions?

That depends on your goals. Acute stress may ease after one treatment, but chronic issues (long-term anxiety, grief, burnout) often benefit from a series of 3–6 sessions. We’ll discuss a personalized plan during your first visit.

11 â–¸ Is Reiki a replacement for medical care?

No. Reiki is a complementary therapy that supports—but does not replace—professional medical treatment. Always consult your doctor for medical advice and emergencies.
